This series consists of assay registers numbers 1 and 2 for the Assay Office Alice Springs. Assay register no. 1 (21/05/1934-02/08/1934) is a small note book which is pasted to the inside of the larger register no. 2 (02/08/1934-22/07/1937). The registers record the number given to the assay, the date received, the date answered, the name and address of the applicant, the number or mark, the locality, the assay for (recorded in its chemical element), description, results and remarks and a reference number. Also included are specific notes relating to specific assays and other notes at the end of register no. 2.
